01 / Our purpose

A stronger community starts with each of us.

WWK is a nonprofit responding to social and economic challenges faced by individuals and families in Canada and Africa. We bring people and resources together so support can reach those who need it.

Our work is guided by inclusion, active participation, and care. We operate across national, ethnic, religious, and political boundaries.

02 / What we do

Support takes
many forms.

Six areas of work.
One shared commitment to community.

01

Learning & education

Seminars and educational activities connect children, young people, and adults with knowledge, skills, and African history.

02

Culture & connection

Cultural gatherings create space to share traditions, celebrate African identity, and learn from one another.

03

Newcomer & family support

A welcoming community, guidance with documents, and connections to resources help families navigate a new environment.

04

Immigrant sponsorship

WWK participates in need-based sponsorship initiatives for people displaced from their homes.

05

Resources that reach people

We bring together financial and in-kind contributions, including household goods, books, and clothing.

06

Care through life’s challenges

Community and social support bring compassion and practical help to families, including those experiencing bereavement.
